Introduction to Terrasolid software setup and software basics

Presentations and demos of new features in TerraScan, TerraMatch, TerraPhoto, TerraModeler and TerraSplat.

This training course provides a complete overview of Digital Terrain Model (DTM) creation, processing, and export using TerraScan and TerraModeler modules.

You will learn how to:
- Create DTM using TerraScan
- Model and export terrain data in TerraModeler
- Compare terrain models
- Generate contour lines
- Analyze surface drainage and water flow on terrain models

Software: TerraScan, TerraModeler

Processing steps for handheld lidar data and drone lidar merged together.
Training steps include
matching positioning of the two data sets and combined classification.

The training will cover TerraMatch settings, preparation of data, how to collect observations and solve for unknowns.
We will also cover some tools for analysing and evaluating the geometric quality.
We will use a smaller dataset, but the method may apply also on larger datasets.

Machine learning based classification of above ground features.
Training data set is airborne lidar data from a small town.
Training covers how to carefully classify training data, how to build a machine learning model and how to classify rest of the project blocks using the trained model.

This training will present tools available in TerraScan and TerraMatch for quality control of Lidar data.
Area coverage, point density, line separation and geometric accuracy are some of the topics covered.

- Viewing just splat files
- Operation when splats are loaded into TerraScan

Terrasolid tools for digitizing features.

Training session steps:
- Point cloud processing and classification using macros
- Point cloud coloring using orthophotos
- DEM production using model keypoint method
- Automatic building model vectorization
- Digitization of roads, paint markings and tree locations

This session covers essential tools and best practices for scaling the processing for large coverage, and tips and tricks for improving and customizing the everyday experience.
Efficient macro execution utilizing TerraBatch.
Introduction to advanced TerraBatch task orchestration using command line.
Introduction to Terrasolid tool access with MicroStation Python interface (utilizing the Python interface requires MicroStation version 2024, or newer. Otherwise the CAD platform does not matter and the session can be run both using Spatix and MicroStation).

This session covers essential tools and best practices for scaling the processing for large coverage, and tips and tricks for improving and customizing the everyday experience.
