Cut line ends

Cut line ends command removes points from the beginning and end of each trajectory. The routine affects defined time range of points in the trajectory. This may be useful cleaning data with lower quality record in the beginning or end of a line, if the system is less stable or sensor is still warming up.

This tool is dependent on the trajectory data and point cloud time stamps. Use Manage Trajectories to load the trajectory data and split the trajectories into lines before using this tool.

To cut line ends:

1. Select Cut line ends command from the Line pulldown menu.

This opens the Cut Line Ends dialog:

cut_line_ends

2. Define settings and click OK.

This starts the process.

Lines

Line(s) that are considered in the process. Use minus to indicate range of lines, and comma to list definitions.

Use classes

Point class(es) that are considered in the process.

_select_classes

Opens the Select classes dialog which contains the list of active classes in TerraScan. You can select multiple source classes from the list that are then used in the Use classes field.

Action

Action to perform on points that are cut off:

Classify - classify points into one target class.

Delete - remove points from the data set.

Set overlap bit - sets the overlap bit for points in LAS 1.4 files.

To class

Target class for points that are cut off. This is active only if Action is set to Classify.

Start cut

Duration to cut from the beginning of a line.

End cut

Duration to cut from the end of a line.
