TerraSplat
Introduction
TerraSplat enables the visualization of 3D Gaussian Splats in Spatix and Bentley CAD. It works alone for simple Gaussian Splatting visualization. Enhanced features are enabled when used in conjunction with TerraScan.
TerraSplat handles splats in Splat Projects. A Splat Project is required to view Gaussian Splats. A Splat project is created when splat points are loaded from a .PLY file by using Load .PLY file tool or when Update Loaded tool is used for loading splats from points loaded in TerraScan. There are two different types of points in Splat Projects: internal and external. External points refer to points loaded directly to TerraSplat without TerraScan. Internal points refer to points loaded to TerraScan and which are linked to a Splat Project in TerraSplat. All TerraSplat tools are available for internal points but only some tools are available for external points. The following table highlights key differences between internal and external points.

How the points are loaded |
Loaded to TerraScan and linked to TerraSplat by using Update Loaded |

Changes in the splat points |
Splats must be updated to view changes of the internal points. |
Splat project is saved on disc when Load .PLY file tool is used. TerraSplat tools cannot make changes to the splats. |
