By vectors

Not Lite

By vectors grouping command assigns a group number to points by proximity to CAD line elements. The points within the distance threshold from an element are assigned the same group number. If a point is close to multiple elements, it will be assigned to the group of the closest element.

This tool is dependent on the active selection of CAD elements. Use the CAD Selection tool to select the element(s) before running this routine.

SETTING

EFFECT

Class

Point class(es) included in the search for groups.

_select_classes

Opens the Select classes dialog which contains the list of active classes in TerraScan. You can select multiple source classes from the list that are then used in the Class field.

Current groups

Determines how current group numbers of points are handled:

Clear - existing group numbers are deleted before assigning new numbers resetting the old grouping.

Keep - existing group numbers are kept continuing the previous grouping.

Method

Determines how the distance between the points and the elements is measured:

2D - measure the horizontal distance from a point to the element(s).

3D - measure the true distance from a point to the element(s).

Max distance

Distance threshold. The points within this proximity are assigned a group number.
